Bogota's brisk climate is perfect for sitting down and chowing. Dining is a very social activity for Bogotanos. You will find that even the most high-end restaurants will seem reasonably priced compared to what you are used to in the United States and Europe. We have categorized all restaurants as cheap, affordable, and expensive. To give you a better idea of what that means, cheap meals (per person and excluding drinks) cost about $10.00 USD. Affordable places (per person and excluding drinks) cost about $20.00 USD. And, expensive restaurants (per person and excluding drinks) cost about $40.00 USD.

Daniel D&W is a great spot, whether you’re looking for a nice meal or just a quick drink. There’s a daily happy hour from 3-7pm with national and imported beers starting at 5.500 up to 9.000 along with delicious tapas, all priced at 7.000. The restaurant is spread out over two floors; the top floor is separated into different rooms. The décor is unique in each area, but subtle and streamlined in basic colours. The wait staff were friendly, accommodating and the service was quick. Highly recommended!

El Bandido is a new bistro right next to the church on the antique street off 7th avenue. We went on a Tuesday night and could not have a table, so we sat and ate at the bar, which was surprisingly comfortable . We were very pleased by the atmosphere and we definitely felt like a Friday night as the place filled up. The food (French influence) is simple and delicious. Try one of their baguette, really worth it. Make a reservation many days (even many weeks) before.

The same Rafael you can find in la Zona G along with the 2 other ones in Lima, La Despensa offers the same delicious Pisco Sour in a toned down atmosphere that fits better this up and coming neighborhood, Quinta Camacho. Their menu is also different than the other location and offers a very original selection of Peruvian classics. A great idea is to order a variety of plates and share so you can enjoy it all. Romantic dinner or a friend's birthday, a must.

Bogota's oldest restaurant! They serve typical Colombian/Bogotana food all day long. The walls are lined with pictures of old Chapinero as well as the many newspaper and magazine articles that have been written about the place over its 100+ year existence.

This new restaurant has a very interesting concept. It's part of an art gallery and uses the art furniture for tables. If you like them, you can buy them after dinner. It has a very impressive selection of imported wines including a rose that we drank all night. The food is Colombian tapas. The waiters are very knowledgeable about the wines and dishes, and will make great recommendations based on your preferences. You can see some choices on their webpage, but they also have a rotating selection of tapas that you can read on a chalk board when you get there.

Everything feels like Cuba in this is new Zona Rosa restaurant. Don't miss out on the moros y cristianos (rice with black beans, but so much better than it sounds). All of the seafood is delish, so it's hard to recommend any dish specifically. Just promise to order a mojito. It comes with a sugar cane stick! Atmosphere is lively- good for dates and large groups.
